The 2017 General Election is expected to go down as one of the most contested in history. The just concluded party nominations gave a clear hint of these as aspirants fought (some literally) for a chance to represent their party in the August 8 polls.
There are over 50,000 aspirants vying for the elective posts of president, senator, governor, members of parliament, members of county assembly and woman representatives.
This is the highest number Kenyans have seen yet according to IEBC.
While President Uhuru Kenyatta (Jubilee Party) and Raila Odinga (National Super Alliance/ODM) are the candidates to watch, below are the other 8 aspirants who are hoping to unseat the incumbent:
