A Kenyan man living in Plano, Texas has been arrested for capital murder after police managed to link him to an old woman who was murdered in the city.

While watching Billy Kipkorir Chemirmir, who was on police radar for several offences in the city, police saw him toss away some items in a dumpster in Dallas’ 4500 block of Pear Ridge and when they searched, found a jewelry box that had the name of the murdered victim.

They followed up on the name which led them to the address 6600 block of Warm Breeze Lane in Dallas, where they found Lu Thi Harris, 81, lying dead. Police say that the woman, who is of Asian decent, might have been suffocated using a pillow.

Chemirmir, 45, was transported to the Dallas Police Headquarters and interviewed. Other items found in the Kenyan’s possession, include money and jewelry which were identified as belonging to Harris.

A Capital Murder warrant was obtained and executed for suspect Chemirmir with a $1,000,000 bond.

In March and June of 2016, Chemirmir was charged for criminal trespassing and false identification at a retirement community in Dallas. He falsely told officers that he was an employee.
