Two Kenyan Media Personalities Sign Major Deal With P Diddy

Popular Kenyan media personalities Remmy Majala and Nick Ndeda are set to start working with American rapper P Diddy after they were announced as official hosts of the new unscripted series titled ‘What’s Good Africa’.

The duo signed a deal with REVOLT TV [leading voice of Hip Hop culture] which is a media station owned by the rapper.

The program is a product of a content partnership between REVOLT and What’s Good Networks and its sister production company What’s Good Studios in Nairobi, Kenya.

The ten-episode series is expected to debut on REVOLT Wednesday, August 12th and also be aired on NTV Kenya, in Tanzania (via Azam TV), and Uganda (via DSTV) with the first season titled ‘Kenyan Edition’.

If the title is to go by, the first season will seemingly focus on Kenyan content although the program managers stated that other parts of Africa will also be featured in future seasons.

The half-hour Tv series will highlight all aspects of Hip Hop culture in Africa, from emerging artists to fashion, sports, entrepreneurship, events and parties, among other entertaining aspects.

In a statement by Jonathyn Pankratz; VP of Programming at REVOLT expressed his excitement over the partnership revealing that it is highly expected that this program will fuel their objective which has always been to feature the vibrant hip hop scene across different parts of the globe.

“Hip Hop is a global culture that truly transcends borders…We’re very excited to partner with What’s Good Networks and What’s Good Studios to spotlight the vibrant Hip Hop scene in Africa, which is full of the young, innovative artists, influencers, and entrepreneurs REVOLT has been championing since our launch,” he stated

Beyond meeting their objectives, this program also strengthens REVOLT’s International collaborations according to EVP Content Distribution, REVOLT Media & TV, James Brown.

The Executive Producer of What’s Good Studios, Josephat Keya, backed up their statements stating that telling African stories is indeed vital and REVOLT pushes this agenda forward by offering a platform for such content.

Following this major announcement, the two media personalities Remmy and Nick hyped the project and briefly shared their experience during its creation.

Majala described the process as beautiful and did not hold back her excitement in regard to this milestone in her career.

“Beyond excited about this!! Its been a beautiful process” she wrote

According to Nick, he portrayed the project as quite an extraordinary one compared to any other that he previously worked on.

“This show is nothing like anything I have worked on before!!! Trailer dropping real soon because after all these months of silence i’ve realized i’d rather show you than tell you.” he stated

With their experience in the Kenyan media industry, the duo is indeed a unique fit for this role. Remmy Majala is a renowned entertainment and news journalist, popularly known for hosting and producing K24’s popular entertainment program “Arena” while Nick Ndeda is a  TV and radio presenter (Kiss FM).
