A global survey aiming to show countries that are most generous in the world, puts Kenya at number 12 in the list and first in Africa.
The World Giving Index 2016 examined whether people donated money to a charity, volunteered their time to an organization or offered assistance to someone they didn’t know who needed help.
It was conducted in 135 countries.
For the third consecutive year, Kenya tops all other African countries after being ranked number 12 dropping one spot.
It’s the most charitable country in the continent, ahead of larger economies like Nigeria and South Africa.
Uganda then follows Kenya with a world rank of 22. At number three in Africa is Malawi but barely made it to the top 40, appearing at number 38 in the world rank.
Southern Sudan, Cameroon, Botswana, Nigeria and Somalia had a world rank of 48, 51, 54, 56 and 58 respectively.
