Moi era most powerful politician Nicholas Biwott, is dead, his personal assistant has confirmed.
Biwott, a former minister died on Tuesday July 11 aged 77 at a Nairobi hospital after long illness.
According to family sources his body has been taken to the Lee Funeral Home. Biwott served as a Member of Parliament for Keiyo-Marakwet and later the Keiyo South Constituency for 28 years and he held several ministerial and government posts in the KANU government with Kenya’s first three presidents, Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
Until his death he was the leader of the National Vision Party.
He becomes the third veteran politician to die in less than a month after Nkaissery and another former Minister GG Kariuki but with his death, Kenyans looked more excited than sad.
Some Kenyans took to twitter to make fun of Biwott after his death with many indicating he was going to hell.
