Kisumu governor Anyang Nyong’o’s son Peter Nyongo has finally exchanged wedding vows with his long term girlfriend Wanja Wohoro in a private wedding ceremony. The couple got engaged in November 2019 before officiating the ceremony on 30th July.
The announcement of their lowkey wedding was made on social media after the couple shared their wedding photos and publicly declared their love in well-drafted sweet captions.
The ceremony is believed to have taken place at Zereniti House in Limuru in the presence of a few family and friends with others following the proceeding of the function online.
Wanja Eleanor Wohoro is a lady crowned with many titles as she is popularly known to be a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and freelance writer.
In a previous interview, she opened up on how they met and further explained the nature of their relationship. At that time, the two were in a long-distance relationship and she spoke highly of Peter describing him as a supportive partner.
“We met at a New Year’s event in 2015. It’s super long distance, but he’s always the person I send ideas and songs to because he’s also musical. Obviously he’s biased but also critical enough to give me pointers. He’s excited for things I do and very supportive.” she said
Wohoro who permanently relocated to Kenya 3 years ago was born in Australia [Her dad is Kenyan and Mum is Australian] and moved to Kenya when she was four before going back to Australia at 13 for her high school and university studies.
Although she admits that the wedding did not go quite as it was originally planned, Wohoro says her big day turned out even more perfect and intimate.
“Not the wedding we planned originally, but ultimately even more perfect and intimate than we could have ever imagined. So many thanks to @zereniti_house for hosting us SO wonderfully.” she wrote in her post
Peter Nyong’o on his end drafted a sweet poetic message to his wife with a promise to continue supporting her and growing together to greater heights.

@wanjawohoro, I will walk for miles to water your roots every single day until you are too tall and impossible for anyone to ignore. My strong steadfast Acacia. Ineffable in stature and beauty. The shade of your branches will always be my refuge. 📸 : @mwanikiweddings 👔 : @houseoftayo
His sister Lupita who followed the ceremony online congratulated the newlyweds but expressed her disbelief that she physically missed out on her brother’s big day.
“Yup, he is off the market, folks! Sharing a moment of joy in my family’s life when my sweet, gentle, loving baby brother @juniornyongo made his declaration of love to his new bride @wanjawohoro this week. I still cannot believe I was not physically present, but thank God for technology! Welcome to the family, Wanja!” she wrote
