Women in Nyeri County have been asked to look for men outside their county in case they are struggling to find a lover.
Speaking at PCEA Mathaithi Church in Nyeri county, controversial Laikipia Woman Rep Catherine Waruguru, who was in the headlines recently after being denied access to the Sunshine Hotel in Kericho town for failure to produce a marriage certificate, asked the women to head to Rift Valley where they are certain they’ll get a lover.
She narrated how she struggled finding a lover while in Nyeri despite being a beautiful lady but immediately found a lover after relocating to Laikipia.
“When I was in Nyeri, none of the guys winked at me. But in Nanyuki, I met a Kalenjin guy who took me to Kericho,” she said as the crowd, which included Deputy President William Ruto, cracked into laughter.
She added that girls in the area shouldn’t fear moving to Rift Valley and getting a Kalenjin man.
“We believe in a new Kenya where people love each other. Even single young girls here (Nyeri) should look for a Kalenjin to get married to,” she said.
The statement comes just weeks after the MP and her husband were denied access to the hotel in Kericho town. She promised to sue the hotel though the hotel maintained that their policy stands regards of the client.
