This is the Mail Bomber Suspect, A Registered Republican.

A man is in custody in Florida in connection with the series of mailed pipe bombs addressed to prominent Democrats in the U.S., authorities said Friday.

According to Reuters, two unnamed federal law enforcement officials identified the suspect as Cesar Sayoc, born in 1962.

Sarah Isgur Flores, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Justice, tweeted the announcement that a suspect was in custody hours after two more suspicious packages were found.

As U.S. investigators continued to search Friday for the culprit or culprits and the motive, the FBI confirmed a package addressed to New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker was recovered in Florida, and a package found at a New York post office was addressed to former intelligence director James Clapper, both resembling other parcels sent to prominent Democrats this week.

That makes 12 in all since Wednesday in the bizarre mail-bomb plot. The suspect’s van also had some interesting images

All have been intercepted and none detonated. No one has claimed responsibility.

The targets have included former president Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, former vice-president Joe Biden, Democratic Party donor George Soros and actor Robert De Niro. The common thread among them was obvious: critical words for Donald Trump and frequent, harsher criticism in return.

The wave of parcel bombs comes less than two weeks before U.S. congressional elections that could alter the balance of power in Washington.

Trump claimed on Friday he was being blamed for the spate of mail bombs, posting a pre-dawn tweet that claimed “CNN and others” were comparing it to 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombing. It was unclear who he believes has made such comparisons.
