Lupita Nyong’o makes Jay z proud

What started as a shout out from Jay Z in one of his tracks and a “thank you for that” delighted reply from Lupita Nyong’o has led to another unexpected collaboration in the Hip hop genre.

The Kenyan Oscar winning actress has made an emotional debut as a video vixen in Jay Z ‘ s new song ‘ MaNyfaCedGod ‘ which he featured James Blake.

Since the release of his latest album 4:44 the rapper has dropped one striking music video after another, and this one is certainly no different.

“MaNyfaCedGod,” a bonus track from Mr. Carter’s 13th opus 4:44, features musician James Blake.

In the black-and-white clip, directed by Francesco Carrozzini, Nyong’o takes us through an interpretive dance, meant to symbolize  the trials and tribulations of a broken relationship on the mend.

As the only character in the video, Lupita Nyong’o demonstrates the full range of her talents, portraying a woman who has been traumatized by a tumultuous relationship described by Hova in the lyrics.

From shock to rage, grief, despair and resurrection, the actress does a brilliant job of conveying all the emotions of a betrayed woman.

The Black Panther actress also recites words written by 13th-century poet Rumi, the latter of whom the Jigga Man’s newborn daughter with wife Beyonce is named after.

“Be grateful for whatever comes, because each has been sent from a guide from beyond,” she says.
