Kericho, Kisumu PSV operators clash over Miguna’s arrest


Kericho police watched helplessly on Tuesday as matatu operators barricaded a highway to protest chaos over Miguna MIguna’s stay in police custody.

Hell broke loose when a crowd in Awasi stoned Eldoret-bound matatus on Kericho-Kisumu highway. This was in demonstration against the government’s arrest of the lawyer and Nasa politician.

According to the Star Newspaper, no injuries were reported during the chaos that began in Migori and Homa Bay in the morning before spilling over to Awasi.

Acting Kericho commissioner Jared Bumba, police commander James Mugera, the sub-county commander and AP officers watched events unfold as the PSV operators turned unruly.

Some of them demanded addresses by Energy cabinet secretary Charles Keter and Kapsoit MCA Paul Chirchir.

Kericho governor Paul Chepkwony rushed to Muhuroni near Awasi to persuade all the protesters to clear the roads as motorists were suffering
