Kenya’s Annie Njaja Awarded Full Scholarship To Study At Columbia University


Award-winning media personality Annie Njaja is elated after she bagged a full scholarship to study at Columbia University in the US.

Njanja who is currently a Nation media journalist broke the news on twitter attracting numerous congratulatory messages including a response from female politician Martha Karua.

This opportunity will see her enrolled for a master’s degree in data journalism.

Some of her achievements in the media industry include several publications on NMG’s Business Daily and she is known to have specialized in business, lifestyle, gender, and health reporting at the media station.

Her work is equally recognized in East Africa considering that she was previously published in Uganda’s Daily Monitor. In 2017, Njanja for winning the International Data Journalism public choice award.

Many Kenyans have over the years landed the opportunity to study abroad and there are countless testimonies on how such opportunities have seen Kenyan citizens thrive in their careers.

In related news, a Kenyan was recently awarded a full scholarship by Nigerian artist Patoranking to study at African Leadership University under the Patoranking-ALU partnership project.

Apart from Njanja, another media personality who also enrolled for studies at Columbia University is BBC correspondent Larry Madowo who graduated with a master’s Business and Economics Journalism.
