A year after the launch of her podcast titled ‘Legally clueless’, celebrated media personality Adelle Onyango has signed a deal with Trace FM which will see her podcast aired live on the station.
Through this deal, Adelle becomes the first radio personality in East Africa to have a syndicated radio podcast a move that serves as one of her greatest achievements in the media industry.
Her podcast will be aired on TRACE FM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting the 4th of May 2020. The audience can listen to the podcast across Kenya on 95:3 NBI, 92.0 MOMBASA, 99.1 KISUMU, 98.0 WEBUYE, 99.09 ELDORET, 99.8 MERU
Expressing her sentiments in regard to her partnership with Trace FM, Adelle revealed that it has always been her dream to have a syndicated show and she is glad to finally have a platform that will enable her content to reach to a larger audience.
“This is an exciting partnership as it will allow more Africans to hear stories they can relate with and to tell their own stories as well. It definitely marks a shift in how Africans consume, create and interact with audio content. To be able to partner with a brand that is just as passionate as I am about Africa in terms of our voices, culture and people is absolutely amazing and this will definitely be a powerful journey for us as Africans” Adelle Onyango
With her podcast that has had tremendous growth and impact you might think that the radio personality had a smooth ride establishing it but she admits that it was not easy. Adelle says that she put in so much effort and was initially scared to start her podcast thinking that she would fail.
“Before I recorded episode 1 I had criiiieeed coz I was so scared – fear of failure & the unknown is HECTIC! I work so very hard on this podcast, read up a lot about this dynamic industry but more than anything I TRUST MY GUT and that’s really what fuels me” she wrote in her post.
The podcast has over 388,000 streams and was ranked the most popular Kenyan podcast of 2019.
Speaking in regard to this deal, Trace Eastern Africa MD Danny Mucira stated that the media station believes that the airing of the podcast will serve as an amplifier to African stories which translates to empowerment and entertaining of their audience.

Beyond this achievement, Adelle is internationally recognized for her works as an influencer who advocates for African women and youth empowerment.
