A Kenyan woman who claimed to have been beaten in Greater Noida on Wednesday has withdrawn her complaint after police said no such incident had taken place and that she was lying.
“According to the evidences and on the basis of the statement of the driver, we can conclude that the woman is lying and that no such incident took place,” said Dharmendra Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Greater Noida. He further said the woman could have lied due to mental stress. “When we interrogated members of the African Student Association, we learned that this woman had a fight with her friend,” Singh added.

According to the reports, the cab driver in his statement said that the woman was not beaten. She went to the Ivory Hospital first and then Kailash Hospital, he said. He also added that she had drinks from a liquor bottle and paid him Rs 120 for the ride.
The Kenyan national was allegedly pulled out of an vehicle and beaten up by some youth in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. She was admitted to Noida’s Kailash Hospital and later discharged.
