Kenyan Musician Warns Ladies Dating Foreigners After Marriage With Briton Man Fell Apart

London-based Kenyan musician Caroline Wakesho has urged ladies interested in dating foreign men to be careful before they get into relationships.

Speaking to the Standard, the single mother of two briefly narrated how her relationship with a Briton man went sour and eventually resulted in their divorce.

According to Wakesho, she met her ex-husband while she was working at the airport and after a fancy proposal with a ring worth 400,000 Kenyan shillings, the couple got married before relocating to London.

The singer who describes her then-lover as friendly says that they were both looking forward to starting a family and even as this came to pass, their relationship took an unexpected turn.

“We both wanted a family and everything happened so fast. After the wedding in Nairobi, 2013 got us to London with a baby on the way. It was a roller-coaster of sorts. Likewise, a few months of my stay in London, things took a twist” she stated

Caroline further reveals that her marriage was marred with accusations of violence and at some point, police had to be involved.

Even though she admits that not all foreign men are bad, the talented artist uses her platform to advise other ladies who wish to take that path.

“Lately I have been advising young girls out there who are interested in dating foreign men to be careful. Mostly I use my Instagram page carol_fit_london to do so. ” she noted

Besides the fact that her marriage did not work out, she has managed to thrive in the job market abroad and now works as an assistant dentist alongside her music career, modeling, and acting.

Speaking on the impact of COVID-19, Caroline says that things have not been easy but she is determined to make it better.

“Life here has been tough especially since Covid-19 broke up. The pandemic has hit UK so hard that everything has almost come to a standstill.

Being, now, separated from my ex-husband and bringing up two children is not an easy task but somehow, I’m making it through. God came my way,” she said

Her advice comes at a time when cases of Kenyan ladies falling victim to toxic relationships with foreign men have been on the rise. The recently reported case is the death of a female Kenyan lawyer which led to the arrest of her Congolese lover as the main suspect.
