“I am Firmly in NASA.” Isaac Rutto Finally Declares

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has finally moved to quell rumors that he is tilting towards Jubilee by declaring that his party-Chama Cha Mashinani-is firmly in NASA. Rutto was a NASA co-principal in the August 8th election and run for the Bomet governor seat only to be dethroned by Joyce Laboso.

In recent days, Rutto, who is also a former Chepalungu member of parliament has not been a participant in NASA-related activities. While the other principals within NASA attended the Supreme Court sessions, Rutto was nowhere to be found fueling rumors that there could have been a (bitter) fallout. But Rutto says his party remains a stakeholder in NASA.

In an interview with KTN, Rutto dismissed the rumors that he has bolted out of NASA as the work of “Facebook.” He noted:

“I am not on Facebook. That is where all those rumors are planted.  Some are even going to an extent of creating fake news complete with photo shopped images.”

Rutto reiterated that he is taking a small break from politics to allow the newly elected governor Laboso “to settle in.”
